VISION® MODULAR Revision stem
The VISION® hip revision stem is a modular system designed for prosthesis replace- ment in cases of serious bone loss.With over 20 years of clinical history, the femoral implant consists of three el- ements: a proximal component, and distal component and locking screw.
The proximal parts is mirror polishing in the neck area has been designed to reduce the wear of the polyethylene in contact with the neck during flexion. The mirror finish also eliminates the risk fatigue cracking.
The stem allows customized recon- structions thanks to the wide range of modular combinations. The distal compo- nent of the revision stem is also used in coupling with the proximal component of the MRP modular resection prosthesis. The surgeon has thus the possibility of us- ing cemented or uncemented distal com- ponents for both SMR and MRP prosthesis, with different indications.
Materials
Titanium alloy Ti 6Al 4V ELI, which guarantees excellent biocompatibility and mechanical resistance. The surface finish is obtained by abrasion with corundum granules that increase the contact surface and facilitate prosthesis-bone anchoring.
